This was my first time traveling to Mexico from the United States

This was my first time traveling to Mexico from the United States. I knew U.S. citizens do not need a visa for short tourism trips, so I thought the experience would feel almost like a domestic flight. It definitely did not.

The first flight from West Palm Beach to Dallas was smooth and comfortable, until I realized how huge Dallas airport is. On top of that, it was a World Cup match day, Argentina vs. Austria, so the airport felt busier than ever.

The second flight to Cabo, Mexico started out very nicely, but right before landing we hit some big, shaky turbulence. I think it may have been because of the surrounding mountains and terrain. Cabo itself is a beautiful place, though. The ocean looked amazing, but not every beach there is swimmable.

Going to Mexico was not too bad overall, but coming back was a different story. I had to go through a series of checks in Mexico, then once I arrived in Dallas, there was a lot of walking, stairs, long lines, customs, security, and even a train ride to the terminal. For a moment, I honestly thought I was going to miss my flight back to West Palm Beach.

But I get it. It was an international arrival, and the U.S. was doing its job, checking everything thoroughly through multiple layers, even with dogs.

Overall, the trip was still worth it. I did not miss any games while flying, the fast internet worked, and I enjoyed the experience. A little chaos, a little turbulence, and a lot of airport cardio. Classic travel.
